Faucet water filters provide an eco-friendly and economical solution to obtain purified water. It gives us more peace of mind when consuming the tap water, especially which we use for cooking, washing and drinking. If you try it, you will love it.

As a filtration system, the filters are better to be replaced regularly or the inefficient cartridge might have an impact on the taste of water. Luckily, whether a regular replacement or the first-time installation of the filters, it is easy to complete.

How to Install

STEP 1: PREPARE THE FILTER CARTRIDGE

Unscrew the top cover of the new filter. Take out the filter cartridge and remove its packaging. After that, insert the cartridge to the base tightly. Screw the top cover.

STEP 2: REMOVE THE AERATOR FROM THE FAUCET

The thread of faucets usually can be divided into external thread and internal thread, or in another name: male thread or female thread.

  • External: for external threaded faucets, most of them match the faucet purifier, so you can simply attach the purifier to the faucet. If they don’t match with each other, get a Type B adapter.
  • Internal: for internal threaded faucets, they require an external threaded adapter and you can choose a Type-A adapter.

STEP 3: TEFLON TAPE TO AVOID LEAKAGE

To prevent leakage, wrap the Teflon tape around the faucet or the adapter.

As there are designed-in gaps between the male and female threads, they always need a sealant to prevent gas or water from leaking. Generally, wrapping two to three revolutions of the tape is to suffice.

STEP 4: SELECT THE RIGHT WASHER

You have to apply a correct washer during installation. If it leaks, apply one more washer which can be found on the original aerator.

STEP 5: ATTACH TO THE FAUCET OR THE ADAPTER

Now it’s time to attach the filter piece to the faucet. You need to screw the mounting nut of the filter to make it tightly connect to the faucet or its adapter.

STEP 6:  FLUSH THE FILTER

Now everything is in the place. Turn on the faucet. Switch the valve to get tap water or purified water. Before using the filtered water, remember to flush the filter for at least one minute, which helps to flush out some loose carbon particles caused by shipping.

STEP 7: FINISH

Enjoy what you have earned— a clean and crisp water from the tap.
