MINT & BLACK CHERRY LIMEADE
Ingredients:
4 ounces Black Cherries
1½ cups + 3 tablespoons Sugar
¼ cup Water
1 cup Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
20 Mint Leaves
Water, to taste
Lime Slices, Mint Leaves, and Cherries, to Garnish
Instructions:
Place the cherries, 3 tablespoons sugar, and ¼ cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium/high heat. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Place in a blender and puree until smooth. Run through a fine mesh sieve and discard solids. Place syrup in an airtight container and store in the fridge.
Place lime juice, mint leaves, and 1½ cups sugar in a saucepan and bring just to a simmer, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat and let sit for 20 minutes to allow the mint to steep. Pour through a sieve and discard mint leaves. Pour the syrup into a pitcher. Add the cherry syrup. Add water to the pitcher, stirring to combine with the syrups. Taste as you add the water, adding more until the desired flavor is reached.
Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves, lime slices, and fresh cherries.
